Education Ministry’s Proposal to Make the Secondary Education Compulsory

The Dewan Negara was today informed that the schooling service has presented a draft proposal to the Principal legal officer’s Chambers to make optional training obligatory.

Schooling Clergyman Fadhlina Sidek said the move was the service’s obligation to guarantee zero understudy dropouts at both the essential and auxiliary levels.

Secondary Education is Compulsory

She was answering a valuable inquiry from R Nelson who posed when the service would make optional training obligatory to guarantee that no understudies drop out after finishing grade school.

Segment 29A(2) of the Training Act 1996 states that guardians should send their kids to grade school for a long time, bombing which they can be fined a limit of RM5,000, imprisoned for as long as a half year or both.

Fadhlina said her service was attempting to execute the Thorough Extraordinary Model School K9 and K11 programs.

She said the K9 program is to guarantee that kids don’t exit between Standard 1 and Structure 3 while K11 is to guarantee that youngsters stay in school from Standard 1 until Structure 5.
