‘Disrespect’ allegations against BJP leader following new ED summons

  • Bansuri Swaraj charged Arvind Kejriwal with being accountable for the Delhi excise policy issue.
  • The party took issue with the Aam Aadmi Party’s persistent disregard for Kejriwal’s role in the now-discontinued Delhi excise policy case.
  • On March 18, Kejriwal is scheduled to appear before the central agency.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Bansuri Swaraj, charged Arvind Kejriwal with being accountable for the Delhi excise policy issue, even though Kejriwal had disregarded the Enforcement Directorate’s summons on multiple occasions.

The party took issue with the Aam Aadmi Party‘s persistent disregard for Kejriwal’s role in the now-discontinued Delhi excise policy case, as well as his involvement in a second money laundering case.

Disrespect allegations

Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bansuri Swaraj, has accused Arvind Kejriwal of being in charge of the Delhi excise policy case and of disobeying the ED’s summons by refusing to appear for questioning before the investigative agency.

Kejriwal is educated, according to Swaraj, and his entire cabinet is made up of educated individuals. Kejriwal needs to explain the Aam Aadmi Party’s rampant corruption while the inquiry is focused on the liquor policy matter.

Having ignored the previous eight summonses, he is currently being called for questioning in the money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy.

According to Delhi minister Atishi, the DJB case appears to be a fallback strategy to detain Kejriwal and prevent him from running for office in the Lok Sabha elections. Regarding this, the ED and the CBI did not respond right away.

On March 18, Kejriwal is scheduled to appear before the central agency and provide a statement by the guidelines set forth by the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This is the second instance in which the 55-year-old lawmaker has been called upon under the anti-money laundering statute.
