Australia’s most well-known ski resorts are being forced to close early due to little snowfall as a result of the warmest winter on record.

On Saturday, Perisher announced that Blue Cow and Guthega will be closed alongside Smiggin Holes and Perisher. This made it the most recent resort to notify that further areas would be closed.

Skiing and snowboarding will be discontinued at Mt. Baw Baw in Victoria and Selwyn Snow Resort in New South Wales beginning on Monday.

The snow season in Australia typically lasts through the first weekend in October. In a tweet or other social media post-Perisher declared: It’s been a crazy season thus far! It has been difficult to recall the incredible pow days of mid-June and the string of breathtaking bluebirds in late July due to the recent low precipitation, higher temperatures, and little possibility for snowmaking.

The time of year when we must wind down activities in several vacation regions has quickly approached given the circumstances.

We would like to let you know that starting on September 4th, 2023, Perisher’s lift operations in Blue Cow and Guthega will end. Sunday, September 3rd, will be the final day of business in Blue Cow & Guthega.

We appreciate your assistance in making this season a fantastic one. Up until October, Perisher Valley is still open and ready for you to enjoy some fantastic spring riding.
