Leona Maguire now asserts her golf prowess for elite competition with assurance

Irishwoman Leona Maguire, 28, is getting ready to compete at the US Women’s Open at Pebble Beach, which will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The Irishwoman, 28, has recently gotten closer to winning her maiden LPGA major trophy. She placed eighth at the US Women‘s Open and fourth at the Women’s British Open last year.

In the Women’s PGA Championship’s final round last month, Maguire had a one-shot lead before losing it. She is certain that she can compete with anyone on the circuit.

Men’s US Opens have been held six times and the PGA Championship once each at Pebble Beach. The US Women’s Open intends to make three additional trips to the course in 2027, 2032, 2037, and 2044.

Pebble Beach now has three appearances beyond this year (2035, 2040, and 2048) on the schedule for the US Women’s Open thanks to Thursday’s tee times.

Maguire thinks it’s a unique occasion for women’s golf because it highlights the major competition in a location that’s well known.

Everyone wants to win a major, and she thinks it would be especially spectacular if it happened at the US Open at Pebble. She has not placed any strain on herself and thinks that this is a golf course where you simply have to embrace the challenge.
