2023 World Para Powerlifting Nigeria Won 7 Medals

  • In the 2023 World Para Powerlifting competition Nigeria won 7 medals.
  • Ghazouni took the citation with 131 kg.

Nigeria won two gold awards coming from Kafilat Almaruf( 71 kg) and Onyinyechi Imprint( 57 kg); two tableware decorations from Bose Omolayo( 73 kg) and Esther Nworgu( 41 kg) while Roland Ezuruike( 54 kg), Folashade Oluwafemiayo( 79 kg) and Thomas Kure( 65 kg) won three citation decorations.

Kafila Almaruf got the top gold for Nigeria the titles with a strong show that likewise saw her breaking a well-established world record.

This was Almaruf’s most memorable Big Showdowns title as she lifted 151 kg to set another imprint, breaking France’s Souhad Ghazouani record of 150 kg set in 2013.
