Kejriwal’s Campaign Marred by Alleged Attack, AAP and BJP Trade Blame

  • Arvind Kejriwal alleges “murderous attack” during campaign in New Delhi.
  • AAP accuses BJP candidate Parvesh Verma’s associates of involvement.
  • BJP denies allegations, calling them a political stunt for sympathy.

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), claimed an attempt on his life during an election campaign in New Delhi, labeling the incident as unprecedented in the city’s political history. Kejriwal alleged that the attack showcased the BJP’s desperation amid fears of losing the election.

In response, the BJP dismissed the accusations as baseless. Parvesh Verma denied any link to the incident, criticizing AAP for politicizing the matter. The alleged stone-throwing incident has deepened the already charged political climate, raising questions about campaign safety and accountability.

Political Tensions Escalate After Alleged Attack on Kejriwal

The alleged attack on Arvind Kejriwal during his campaign in New Delhi has intensified the rivalry between AAP and BJP. Kejriwal described the incident as a “murderous attack” and accused BJP of promoting violence to intimidate opponents.

At a press conference, AAP’s Atishi claimed that the attacker, identified as “Shanky,” had close ties to BJP candidate Parvesh Verma, showcasing photographic evidence. She alleged that hardened criminals were deployed to sabotage the campaign and endanger Kejriwal’s life.

BJP, however, countered these allegations, with Verma rejecting any involvement and accusing AAP of spreading misinformation. The party argued that the accusations were a ploy to gain sympathy votes as polling day approaches.

The incident has drawn widespread attention, with political observers highlighting the need for peaceful and secure campaigning. It has also raised concerns about the use of violence in democratic processes.

The alleged attack and the ensuing blame game underline the intensity of Delhi’s electoral contest. As accusations fly, the need for a transparent investigation becomes crucial to maintain trust in the democratic process.
