Chopra’s historic victory was lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said that Chopra’s commitment, accuracy, and enthusiasm make him more than simply an athlete; they also make him a testament to the unmatched brilliance in all of sports.

President Droupadi Murmu congratulated Chopra on his victory at the World Championships and said that millions of our youngsters will be inspired by his outstanding performance in the javelin throw finals in Budapest.

The success of Indian athletes at international competitions was attributed to PM Modi’s “visionary thinking, correct policies, and efforts,” including an increased budget for sports, according to Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, expressed his happiness over Chopra’s gold-winning throw and wished him the perseverance to continue encouraging young athletes.

Jairam Ramesh, general secretary of the Congress, praised Chopra for taking a stand when women wrestlers protesting against former Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh were “dragged across the streets of the national capital.”

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, spoke highly of Chopra and cited Chandryaan-3’s successful soft landing on the moon last week as a cause for pride and inspiration. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, praised Chopra for becoming the first Indian to hold the titles of both Olympic and World Champion.

Khandra, Chopra’s hometown in Panipat, came together to celebrate the javelin star’s gold medal victory. He fulfilled the hopes of his country to win a gold medal at the competition, according to his uncle Bhim Chopra, who also expressed the family‘s confidence in his ability to do so.
