Sweden’s Loreen Wins Again at Eurovision in 2023

With “Tattoo,” Loreen won Eurovision 2023 for the second time with the song from her country, Sweden. Second place went to Finland’s Käärijä, a rapper with green bolero sleeves.

The song “Cha Cha Cha” helped him win the viewer vote, but it was not enough to surpass Loreen’s advantage following the verdict from the juries in the 37 participating nations.

Eurovision 2023

Sweden and Ireland are now tied as the most successful nations after Loreen O’Rourke’s victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. The organizers had to strike a balance between highlighting Ukraine and avoiding any overt political overtones.

However, two people were hurt when Russian missiles struck Ternopil in western Ukraine, the home of the electro-pop group Tvorchi. Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, was not permitted to address spectators globally. The “City of Pop” hosted the 67th iteration of the music festival on behalf of Ukraine.

  • Eurovision 2023 was won by Sweden’s Loreen with the song “Tattoo” in Liverpool.
  • Second place went to Finland’s Käärijä, a rapper with green bolero sleeves.
  • Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, was not permitted to address spectators globally.

In particular, a rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” that was sung in the arena and throughout Ukraine together gave the show, which was viewed by thousands in person and millions on TV, a touch of the Ukrainian spirit.

Behind Britain at the bottom of the standings, Germany came in last place, but no nation received the dreaded “nul points”. A support worker named Pam Minto, 37, expressed her desire that her city will make Ukraine proud.

The 26 acts competing in the final represented a variety of musical genres, from rap to hard rock to ballads, as well as some unusual performances. Germany came in last on the leaderboard, but no nation received the dreaded “nul points.”
