Meta is working on a brand-new, more potent AI system

  • Meta Platforms is creating a sophisticated artificial intelligence system that is comparable to OpenAI’s top model.
  • Meta anticipates beginning the massive language model training process for the new AI system in early 2024.
  • In July, Apple (AAPL.O) is developing AI products that compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Meta Platforms is creating a sophisticated artificial intelligence system that is comparable to OpenAI’s top model. Next year, the business intends to deploy its next model, which is significantly more potent than its Llama 2 commercial version.

To compete with Google’s (GOOGL.O) Bard and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Llama 2 is an open-source AI language model developed by Meta and delivered by Microsoft’s (MSFT.O) cloud Azure services.

Future of AI

The technology, whose specifics may alter, would aid other businesses in creating services that generate complex text, analysis, and other output, according to the newspaper. According to the study, Meta anticipates beginning the massive language model training process for the new AI system in early 2024.

Due to its increased capabilities and workflow optimization, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which was published in late 2018, has drawn interest from organizations and enterprises.

In July, Bloomberg News reported that Apple (AAPL.O) is developing AI products that compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard. The publication also stated that Apple has developed its framework, called “Ajax,” for building extensive language models and is now testing a chatbot that some engineers refer to as “Apple GPT.”

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a potent force that is changing how we live and how we work. Since its inception in the 1950s, AI has made significant strides in several industries, including healthcare, banking, transportation, and education.

Predictive algorithms, self-driving cars, and voice-activated virtual assistants are some examples of its current status. AI is making strides in several industries, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and education, thus the field has a bright future.

The creation of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), which may have cognitive skills comparable to those of humans and the capacity for original problem-solving, is an intriguing possibility.

AI has a wide range of effects on society, including bettering healthcare, boosting daily living, and upending some sectors of the economy. Data privacy and other ethical issues, such as prejudice in AI systems, are being discussed more and more.

We need to emphasize ethical development, make investments in training and education, and have frank discussions about the ethical implications of AI if we want to make sure technology is utilized for good. We can create a future in which AI acts as a transformative force for the advancement of civilization by working together.
