As part of his 70th birthday celebrations, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has donated tractors to each of Buganda’s 18 counties (masaza).

Kabaka Mutebi Champions Agricultural Revival with Tractor Donation

The Kabaka’s initiative is a timely intervention aimed at revitalizing agriculture in Buganda, a region once known for its rich farming traditions. By equipping each county with a tractor, the Kingdom aims to bridge the gap between traditional and modern farming techniques.

This effort is not only symbolic of the Kabaka’s dedication to his people’s welfare but also a practical investment in long-term food sustainability. The tractors are expected to benefit both small-scale and large-scale farmers. This will enable them to cultivate more land with less effort.

Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga, during his address, reiterated the Kabaka’s vision for a food-secure kingdom. He urged all county leaders to ensure the tractors are well-maintained and used to benefit the entire community rather than a select few.

The donation is also a call to action for the youth of Buganda to consider agriculture as a viable economic opportunity. With access to modern tools, farming can become a more attractive and profitable venture for the next generation.

Kabaka Mutebi’s tractor donation not only honors tradition. It also paves the way for a future where agriculture becomes the backbone of a prosperous Buganda.

“The Kabaka wants every homestead to have enough food. That’s why he encourages his subjects to embrace modern agriculture. – Charles Peter Mayiga
