November 2023: The most packed month for movie fans

New movies from famous actors and filmmakers have started showing up on Netflix, Apple TV, Disney Plus, and other streaming services, upsetting the recent trend of blockbuster sequels and franchise films dominating the box office.

As we celebrate the big movies arriving on theatre screens and streaming services in 2023 and beyond, these are the most recent dates for your calendar. For a list of releases in reverse chronological order, scroll down.

Upcoming Movies

A massively successful action movie, and Luther, a TV detective, is returning to Netflix. With fresh prequels, the worlds of the Hunger Games and Willy Wonka are also revisited on November 17.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe begins with Ant-Man and the Wasp, which features the Guardians of the Galaxy in action for the third and probably the final time before additional characters from Disney Plus joins them in The Marvels, a team-up adventure that will be released on the 10th November.

There are also two Spider-spinoffs, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Kraven the Hunter, both of which are highly anticipated outside of the MCU.

DC, the rival publisher of comic books, also introduces Blue Beetle as a new character while bringing back Aquaman and the Flash.

There are a number of other big-budget movies being released this year, including Super Mario Bros., Gran Turismo, and Dungeons & Dragons. Disney is now celebrating its 100th anniversary with the new animated film Wish on November 22.

As Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 2 (November 3rd)are generating buzz, Jason Statham is shown punching a megashark in The Meg 2 directed by indie horror legend Ben Wheatley.

There are still delays: The release dates for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Aquaman 2, Madame Web, and The Flash have all changed. Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 have seen several postponements, while Blade’s delays have caused phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be rearranged.
