Following their theft by Israeli forces from different parts of the Gaza Strip, at least 100 Palestinian remains were interred in a mass grave in Rafah, Israel. Re-buried bodies included some that had already deteriorated and others that were unidentified. According to medical authorities, some of the victims had missing organs when they were examined.
When the Israeli army stormed several parts of the Gaza Strip, they abducted bodies from hospitals and graves and brought them via the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) border. 110 bodies were taken from a cemetery in front of Al-Shifa Hospital and the hospital’s emergency room by Israel in November of last year.
Israel-Hamas War
Arriving in Israel for his sixth trip there since Israel’s war on Gaza began is US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Beginning on Saturday and lasting through Monday, he will visit Israel after having a meeting with Sigrid Kaag, the recently appointed UN Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza. In addition to Egypt, Blinken has traveled to Israel, Saudi Arabia, the occupied West Bank, Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
According to Israel’s military, the rocket launchers used to target downtown Israel on Monday have been destroyed by the air force. In Tel Aviv among other places, air raid sirens had gone off, sending locals running for cover.
Three Palestinians were killed at the hospital, one of them while receiving treatment for wounds sustained months earlier in an Israeli raid. This is the first time an Israeli army operation like this has taken place inside a civilian hospital since the start of the war on Gaza.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, there is still no communication with the ambulance crew that was dispatched to save a six-year-old child who was stranded in a car with her deceased family members nearby.
According to the Kremlin, action must be taken to “de-escalate rather than destabilize” the larger Middle East because tensions there are high.
