Water on Mars

The Perseverance spacecraft’s Mastcam-Z camera took a picture of some of the rocks and pebbles in the Jezero Crater on Mars, specifically in “Castell Henllys.” According to NASA, floodwaters from billions of years ago brought in boulders and stones.

With the potential to find solid proof of microorganisms or their remains, the Perseverance mission seeks to ascertain whether life exists on another planet. Since life on Earth began as microbes in water and developed into complex aquatic species, there is a reason to look for water on other worlds. A planet’s likelihood of supporting life forms increases if it has water.

The Jupiterian satellite Europa is another well-liked target for the search for life because researchers think there may be a sizable liquid ocean beneath the ice that supports life.
