The first Totally Electric Flying Automobile in the World is Now Available for Preorder

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted special airworthiness certification to California-based Alef Aeronautics for their flying electric automobile.

The totally electric car can travel up to 200 miles on public roads and fits into a typical garage. It also has a hydrogen option.

With a 110-mile flying range, it can also take off vertically. The “Model A” car’s distinctive gimbaled rotating cabin design allows it to go ahead over obstacles until it reaches the target location. The vehicle, which has room for two passengers, is anticipated to cost roughly $300,000.

On June 12, 2023, the FAA granted the Armada Model Zero aircraft a Special Airworthiness Certificate, allowing it to be used for a few specific tasks like development, research, and demonstration.

Jim Dukhovny, the CEO of Alef and a co-founder of the business in 2015, expressed delight about the certification and said it will help the company get closer to offering commuters a quicker and more ecologically friendly option while also saving consumers and businesses hours each week. For aeroplanes, certification is one tiny step; for cars, it is one enormous step.
