Following a surprise onslaught by the Hamas group that left over 600 Israelis dead, Israel’s military has blasted the Palestinian enclave of Gaza and murdered hundreds of civilians every day.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke of a “long and difficult” battle in response to Hamas’s bombardment of hundreds of missiles fired at Israel as well as its fighter wave that claimed the lives of civilians and abducted at least 100 people.

Deadliest Offensive

At least 3,000 rockets were launched by Hamas during the start of their multifaceted offensive on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath, while fighters infiltrated cities and kibbutz settlements and stormed an outdoor rave where several revelers were shot dead.

There are currently seven to eight areas in and around the Gaza Strip where Israeli soldiers and Hamas militants are engaged in combat. More than 1,100 people have died as a result of Saturday’s unexpected attack by the Islamist group Hamas on Israel and the Israeli response, which has drawn attention to the Iran-backed organization.

The $6 billion in funds that were unfrozen as part of a US-Iran prisoner swap in September, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, have not yet been spent by Iran.

The current unrest in Israel claimed the lives of about ten Nepali students. After Hamas attacked an Israeli music festival, a 23-year-old American-Israeli man went missing.

On Sunday in Alexandria, Egypt, a police officer shot and killed their Egyptian tour guide and two Israeli tourists. A “local” was reportedly accountable for a second incident that occurred on Sunday morning and injured a third Israeli, according to the Israel Foreign Ministry.
