Putin’s forces “drop 200 bombs” close to the border  

  • Almost 200 bombs have reportedly been launched over the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine by Russia.
  • Russia and Ukraine reported increased border strikes in the Belgorod region, resulting in evacuations on both sides.
  • On Wednesday, an eight-story building and a factory were targeted by a Russian attack in Kharkiv.

Almost 200 bombs have reportedly been launched over the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine by Russia, according to Volodymyr Zelensky, who has denounced the country’s “constant” operations against it.

There have been 30 documented cases of shelling over the day on Tuesday, prompting civilian evacuations due to the ongoing Russian airstrikes. Russia and Ukraine reported increased border strikes in the Belgorod region, resulting in evacuations on both sides.

Early on Wednesday, Engels Air Base, located deep into Russian territory, was targeted by Ukrainian drones operating under the auspices of the GUR military intelligence agency. Although no damage was reported, the governor of the Saratov region said that Ukrainian drones had been shot down close to Engels.

An orphan who gained notoriety as a poster child for Moscow’s repatriation of Ukrainian youngsters to Russia claimed that he was threatened with beatings and told by authorities to recite pro-Kremlin talking points for TV cameras.

Following the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, 4,000 children, including 18-year-old Denys Kostev, were forcibly transferred to Russian-controlled territory as orphans or minors without parental care.

A dance studio in northeastern Ukraine that also functions as a bomb shelter provides lightheartedness and a getaway from the everyday atrocities that take place above ground.

On Wednesday, an eight-story building and a factory were targeted by a Russian attack in Kharkiv, the northern Ukrainian city of Ukraine, leaving three people dead and at least five more injured. Over 1,000 square meters of fire were started by the attack.
