Nine people were on board a US Navy plane when it overshot a runway and splattered into a bay in Hawaii on Monday, but according to authorities, everyone survived and was unharmed.

Speaking through a spokesman, Shayne Enright, all nine people on board the downed military aircraft made it safely to shore, and there were no injuries. However, when the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services Department arrived on the scene, they were informed by military officials that this was not the case.

When a US Navy plane went off course and crashed into a bay in Hawaii, the Coast Guard was called to the scene but decided not to pursue rescue efforts. Boeing’s P-8A aircraft, which is also shared by the 737 commercial jet, is frequently utilized for reconnaissance and submarine hunting.

On Oahu, the base is roughly 16 kilometers away from Honolulu. The pilot and the other nine passengers all made it out alive. The event bore similarities to commercial pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger’s emergency landing in New York.

Because of the poor visibility, the Coast Guard was dispatched to the scene of the accident; however, no rescue efforts were required, and all nine passengers managed to escape unharmed.
