Ten people were killed and at least sixty others were injured in Kyiv, the south, west, and east of the country on Friday as a result of Russia’s most extensive drone and missile attack on Ukraine in months, according to officials.
Damage was recorded to buildings in the western city of Lviv, the southern port of Odesa, the eastern city of Kharkiv, and a maternity hospital in the center city of Dnipro, all of which treated dozens of injured persons.
Massive airstrikes
In Kyiv, two deaths have been verified, and there are still more persons missing from a warehouse that was destroyed by debris. Missiles struck residential buildings in Odesa, resulting in two fatalities and at least fifteen injuries, including two children.
Since Russian strikes crippled the power grid last year, leaving millions of people without electricity, Ukraine has been warning about the likelihood that Russia is getting ready to start a huge air campaign against the energy infrastructure.
Four areas of Ukraine, including the Poland-bordering region of Lviv, have lost electricity as a result of Russia’s airstrike. Russia used cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles—including some that are challenging to intercept—against vital infrastructure, including social infrastructure.
