On August 1, 2022, a delivery ceremony was held for Inner Mongolia Dongjing Bio-Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.’s 280,000 tons per year 1,4-butanediol (BDO) project, which is mainly contracted in Beijing.
The total investment in the project is said to be more than 3 billion RMB. As the EPC contract was signed on March 3, 2021, and the project site started on May 20 of the same year, only 14 months (436 days) are needed to complete delivery in the medium term.
China’s BDO Project
This project represents the first 280,000 tons/year of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) using Hong Kong Kuanda’s acetal process technology, which has a long continuous production cycle and high product quality and is the largest 1,4-butanediol (BDO) plant in the world. The project is located in the city of Wuhai in Inner Mongolia and benefits from local resources such as lime, electricity, and coal.
Upon completion of the project, Dongjing Bio’s maximum production capacity of 1,4-butanediol will reach 380,000 tons per year and become the world’s largest green, low-carbon and recycling integrated 1,4-butanediol industrial base. The project is more demanding in terms of construction time, quality, safety, and technical complexity, which also places higher demands on the project team’s management ability.
- This BDO plant in China is the World’s biggest BDO plant.
- This particular plant was situated in Wuhai city.
- It was run by local resources like lime, electricity, and coal.
At the beginning of construction, by previous successful project experience, the project team will carefully optimize the project implementation plan and optimize design, procurement, and construction issues and problems in the design phase to achieve an overall fast process.
