Following her unexpected revelation that she was quitting beauty pageants, Herlene Budol made headlines a week ago.
She admitted in an episode of “Dapat Alam Mo!” on the GMA Network’s YouTube channel that she had second thoughts about continuing in pageants. The interview was conducted by TV hosts Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez.

Susan asked Herlene if she intended to continue holding the title of a beauty queen, to which she responded, “oo ata.” If she intended to stop using YouTube, Kuya Kim questioned her. Herlene clarified that the ambiguity surrounding her participation in the international beauty pageant as the Philippines‘ representative was brought on by problems with the Miss Tourism franchise.
But she remained mum about which particular international pageant she might enter. Herlene also intends to spend time following the unnamed international pageant developing her skills as a person.

In unrelated news, Herlene’s response to a question at the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant’s Q&A session went viral. Herlene was asked by one of the judges what she believed to be the most pressing issue facing Filipino youth and how she would solve it.
She made the audience applaud her when she said, “I-English-in niya po,” referring to her interpreter, after answering the query.
Herlene previously spoke about her important advocacy during the Top 15 speech round of Miss Grand Philippines 2023. She declared that she will advocate for online safety as an influencer. She could not help but utter a “woooh” as she searched for the right words to finish her speech. In the meantime, videos of her remarks circulated on social media.
