After defeating Shweta Sharda of India in a spectacular event held on November 19 at the Jose Adolf Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, Sheynnis Palacios was declared the winner of the Miss Universe 2023 title.
Sheynnis Palacios was crowned on stage by Miss Universe 2022, USA’s R’Bonney Gabriel. Her victory as Miss Universe this year makes her the first female from Nicaragua.

When asked in the last round who she would most like to spend a day with, Ms. Paldacios selected feminist and philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft, who lived in the eighteenth century in Britain. She claimed that Wollstonecraft broke down barriers and “allowed many women.” Through a translator, she said, “There are no limitations for women today,” according to CNN.
A sincere message about realizing a childhood dream to compete in the global competition was posted on Instagram by 23-year-old TV host and model Sheynnis Palacios.
She stressed that passion, tenacity, and determination are necessary for goals and dreams to succeed and that these qualities will overcome any challenges. Nicaraguan-born Palacios is the winner of multiple pageants, including Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016, Miss World Nicaragua 2020, and Miss World 2021.
