Star Sports analyst Sunil Gavaskar has taken issue with Virat Kohli for his criticism of pundits who questioned his Indian Premier League (IPL) scoring rate.
Before the T20 World Cup roster was chosen, there was more scrutiny, and Kohli was included in the group of 15 players. Moreover, Gavaskar chastised the broadcaster for showing the video of Kohli’s tirade “half a dozen times.”

In contrast to the circumstances where he had a strike rate of 118 when he was out in the 14th or 15th over, Gavaskar claimed that commentators only asked questions when Kohli’s strike rate was 118. Additionally, he criticized Star Sports for interrogating the detractors because they are their pundits.
It would be disheartening if Star Sports showed the individual disparaging their pundits once more, Gavaskar further criticized the network for doing so.
Given that he has been winning games for the team for 15 years, Kohli has addressed the criticism of his strike rate in public statements. Because it has become second nature to him, he feels that people who have done it repeatedly understand what is going on.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar of the Indian men’s cricket team said that there was never any discussion or worry about Kohli’s strike rate during squad selection meetings. He thought that if the World Cup played like the Indian Premier League and 220 played like 220, then the experience would count for a lot and the team would be ready for the strain.
