Khelo India Youth Games 2023 will be opened by PM Modi

  • 5000 athletes representing 26 competitive sports will compete in the Khelo India Youth Games 2023.

  • A traditional sport from Tamil Nadu called silambam will be introduced as a demonstration sport.

Five thousand athletes representing 26 competitive sports will compete in the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, which will be held from January 19 to January 31.

Dignitaries attending the event include Chief Minister M K Stalin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 44th Chennai Chess Olympiad’s success is what the event hopes to emulate in 2022.

Khelo India Youth Games

The Khelo India Youth Games 2023 will feature tournaments in several disciplines and will be held in Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, and Madurai. Governor R N Ravi and the Chief Minister are anticipated to be there when the Prime Minister opens the games.

Participating will be Minister of Union Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik, and Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development for Tamil Nadu Udayanidhi Stalin.

A traditional sport from Tamil Nadu called silambam will be introduced as a demonstration sport. Over 1,200 volunteers and over 1,000 referees will be involved in the event.

A unique smartphone application for the games has been released by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, giving players, coaches, officials, support personnel, and parents access to all game-related data. The 2023 Khelo India Youth Games would also highlight Tamil Nadu’s legacy of sports and organizational prowess.
