Asian Para Games
The 800-meter wheelchair race was won by Ali Radi Arshad, the discus throw competition was won by Sarah Masoud, and the 200-meter wheelchair race was won by Mohammed Al Kubaisi, who finished in fourth position.
Additionally, the group from Qatar will take part in the Sharjah International Open Para Athletics Meeting, which takes place from February 3-6.
Although fierce competition and Asian champions were competing, the Qatari players managed to place highly on the podium, take on Asian celebrities, and win seven vibrant medals in the athletics competitions, said Khalid Al Shoaibi, the head of the Qatari delegation, in praise of the outstanding performance and accomplishments made by the members of the national team.
Contributions to these accomplishments were the backing of the Qatari Paralympic Committee, hiring of qualified coaches, rigorous training, involvement from elsewhere on the continent and internationally, and interaction with world champions.
In an attempt to move up the podium and take home the bronze, the Al Hadaf team put up a great performance during the competition. They will now play in a ranking match for third place.
