The DMDK head Vijayakanth’s death is regretted by PM Modi

Vijayakanth, the leader of DMDK and a Tamil actor, went suddenly to a private hospital in Chennai. After suffering from pneumonia, 71-year-old Vijayakanth was placed on a ventilator at Chennai’s MIOT Hospital as his condition worsened.

According to his party, Vijayakanth tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on a ventilator because of breathing problems; however, the hospital clarified that he was suffering from pneumonia.

On November 20, the DMDK chief was admitted to the hospital to receive treatment for a respiratory ailment. The demise of Vijayakanth, a political figure with a strong commitment to public service and a legend in the Tamil cinema industry, was regretted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also sent his deepest sympathies to his followers and family during this trying time. Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, also expressed his sorrow at Vijayakanth’s passing and sent his deepest sympathies to his family and supporters during this trying time.
