A countrywide demonstration over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in a case involving the city’s liquor policy has been called by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
When the Enforcement Directorate (ED) showed up at Kejriwal’s house to question him on the liquor policy case, they searched it and took him into custody. Wearing a white half-shirt, the AAP chief was carried to the ED office in central Delhi at approximately 11:25 p.m.

The demonstration, which the AAP leaders want to launch at the BJP headquarters at 10 am, will eventually take place throughout the nation. In reaction to the AAP’s protest, the Delhi Metro Police have also released a warning, which states that traffic would continue to be high at Bahadur-Shah-Zafar-Marg, Vikas Marg, IP Marg, and Minto Road.
Kejriwal has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the ED’s arrest of him at his home, but the Delhi High Court has refused to grant him temporary protection from the agency’s coercive measures.
Kejriwal received a summons from the 12-person ED team, who also searched his home. On Thursday evening, no special court was assembled to consider Kejriwal’s appeal against the ED’s arrest of him. The illegal detention of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has been challenged in the Supreme Court, and the case is scheduled to be heard on Friday morning.
The ED is anticipated to present Kejriwal before a special PMLA court today to secure his remand for questioning while in custody in connection with the money laundering case.
Atishi, a senior AAP leader, along with other lawmakers and Kejriwal allies have questioned the timing of the arrest, arguing that in two years of investigation, neither the CBI nor the ED have turned up a single rupee. In the liquor policy case, Kejriwal’s detention marks the 16th by the ED; Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain, two members of the AAP, have already been imprisoned for almost a year.
