- Five AAP MLAs took the oath as ministers in the Punjab cabinet.
- The reshuffle comes after significant leadership changes within AAP.
- Four existing ministers were dropped from the Bhagwant Mann-led cabinet.
In a strategic cabinet reshuffle, the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, inducted five Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs as ministers.
Hardeep Singh Mundian, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Dr. Ravjot Singh, and Mohinder Bhagat were sworn in by Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at Raj Bhavan.

The reshuffle also saw the exit of four ministers—Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Anmol Gagan Maan, Balkar Singh, and Bram Shanker Jimpa—bringing the total cabinet strength to 15. This political shift follows closely on the heels of major changes in the party, including the release of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail and his subsequent resignation as Delhi’s Chief Minister, with Atishi now taking charge.
This reshuffle comes at a crucial time, as AAP navigates internal and external challenges. The Mann government has already undergone four reshuffles, signaling a dynamic political landscape within Punjab’s administration. The regions of Malwa and Doaba have representation in the new cabinet, reflecting a balanced geographical focus.
Notably, the reshuffle follows the removal of four ministers—Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Anmol Gagan Maan, Balkar Singh, and Bram Shanker Jimpa—who held important portfolios. With 15 ministers currently in the cabinet, the Mann administration still has room to add more, as the cap is set at 18.
This development coincides with changes in AAP’s national leadership. Arvind Kejriwal, the party’s national convener, was recently released from jail and resigned as Delhi’s Chief Minister. Atishi, a key AAP leader, has since stepped into the role, with Kejriwal focusing on party efforts in Haryana ahead of the upcoming state elections.
The latest cabinet reshuffle in Punjab underlines the evolving political dynamics within AAP, as the party seeks to strengthen governance in the state while balancing regional representation and internal changes.
