Voters in Mizoram are being counted throughout the state as of the start of the election. Monday is the new date for the counting, which was originally scheduled for Sunday.
Almost 4,000 officials, including women, will be stationed at 13 polling locations throughout the state. Eighty percent of the eight lakh registered voters participated in the single-phase election.
Mizoram Election
The Mizo National Front (MNF), the People’s Movement (ZPM), the Congress, the state’s major opposition Zoram, and the Aam Aadmi Party have each fielded candidates for 40 seats, while the latter is vying for 27 seats.
According to assembly polls, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is leading in 29 of 40 seats, putting the party on the verge of a resounding win in Mizoram.
In the northeastern state, it is anticipated that the ZPM will take power and replace the Mizo National Front (MNF), which is currently in power.
The ZPM was observed to be leading in 22 assembly constituencies, whereas the Mizo National Front (MNF) held the lead in 10 seats. In one seat, the Indian National Congress (INC) is leading, while in two seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading. With 1390 votes, Lalduhoma, the ZPM candidate for chief minister, is leading from the Serchhip constituency.
