Gaza: The attack killed at least 20 people who were waiting for food

  • As they awaited food assistance on Thursday night, over 100 people were hurt and at least 20 people died in Gaza City.
  • Israeli forces were accused by the Gazan ministry of carrying out a “targeted” attack on people who needed humanitarian aid.
  • The inhabitants in northern Gaza who were waiting for limited humanitarian help did not die for the first time.

As they awaited food assistance on Thursday night, over 100 people were hurt and at least 20 people died in Gaza City. Both the reason for the killings and the type of weaponry used in the attack were not immediately disclosed by the ministry.

The massacre happened close to the Kuwait Roundabout, where large people congregate to obtain much-needed food handouts.

Humanitarian Aid

Israeli forces were accused by the Gazan ministry of carrying out a “targeted” attack on people who needed humanitarian aid. The Israeli military categorically denied any claims that it had attacked scores of Gazans at a location where supplies were being distributed.

Although there was little information available about the circumstances of those who had been wounded, the Gazan health ministry reported that some had been transferred to hospitals.

Due to disputes over inspection procedures, heightened criminality, and Israeli charges that Hamas is stealing food from civilians to feed its militants, food aid has been sluggish to reach the enclave. The inhabitants in northern Gaza who were waiting for limited humanitarian help did not die for the first time on Thursday.
