Due to the current weather over the southern portion of the nation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted on Sunday that Kerala will experience isolated heavy rainfall over the next few days.

A cyclonic circulation was over south Tamil Nadu and its surrounding areas, according to an IMD forecast. Over the next three days, it was expected to move west-northwestward towards the southeast and the adjacent east-central Arabian Sea.

Heavy rain

It said that widespread light to moderate rainfall was very likely over south peninsular India over the next seven days due to the influence of strong lower-level easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal caused by the aforementioned systems.

Additionally, it stated that from November 5 to 8, there was a high probability of isolated, heavy rainfall over Kerala and that on Sunday, there was a high probability of isolated, heavy rainfall in the southern state.

The state’s districts of Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Malappuram were under orange alerts for November 5 from the IMD on Saturday. Very heavy rainfall, between 6 and 20 cm, is indicated by an orange alert.
