Air India Express will permit passengers to reschedule their flights

  • Passengers have two options as part of the service recovery process.

Lack of cabin crew has caused Air India Express to cancel flights; several have reported sick in protest against the airline, which is controlled by the Tata Group, for allegedly mismanaging operations.

There has been growing dissatisfaction among a portion of the low-cost carrier’s cabin staff, particularly since the process of combining AIX Connect, previously AirAsia India, with itself began.

The Air India Express Employees organization, a legally recognized organization that advocates for approximately 300 members of the cabin crew, has further claimed that poor administration hurts staff morale.

A lot of travelers voiced their dissatisfaction about the unexpected cancellations on social media. Air India Express apologized and stated that the flight was canceled “due to operational reasons” in response to a passenger’s post on X.

Passengers have two options as part of the service recovery process: using their chatbot Tia, they can request a full refund or reschedule the travel within the next seven days.

This news comes one month after full-service carrier Vistara of the Tata Group had to temporarily reduce capacity by 10%, or 25–30 flights per day, due to pilot issues.
