  • When the Emirates aircraft arrived at Mumbai airport at 9:18 p.m., it reported a bird hit.

At least 36 flamingos lost their lives on Monday night over the Laxmi Nagar neighborhood of Pantnagar in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar as a result of a Mumbai-Dubai Emirates flight carrying 310 passengers. When the Emirates aircraft arrived at Mumbai airport at 9:18 p.m., it reported a bird hit.

A search has been conducted to determine whether any additional flamingos have been killed, according to Chief Conservator of Forests (Mangrove Protection Cell) SY Rama Rao, who reported that 36 flamingo corpses had been discovered nearby.

The bird strike was verified by deputy conservator Deepak Khade, who also confirmed that it occurred closer to Laxmi Nagar. According to Range Forest Officer Prashant Bahadure, the event might have occurred between 8.40 and 8.50 p.m.

Environmentalist D Stalin on NGO Vanshakti said that the wildlife board had given up to the power corporation rather than demolishing and erecting towers and that the birds were being confused by the new power lines that were passing through the sanctuary region.

Stalin further asserted that there was a loose relationship between the accident and the CIDCO, which originated the hypothesis of the bird-hit hazard to the Navi Mumbai airport. He hypothesized that i0 f a person or individuals had chased the birds away at night, they might have tried to fly in the direction of Thane Creek and had the mishap.
