While Taste Atlas believes its roots are linked to Haji Mohammad Fakr-e-Alam Saheb, who brought it to Nawab Asad-ud-Daula, who wanted a soft kebab variation for his toothless mouth, the guide describes a tender kebab with a spicy red sauce from deseeded Kashmiri peppers.
