Rishi Sunak attends Ram Katha
Sunak, the first Indian-born prime minister of the United Kingdom, visited Bapu’s Ramayana recital and presented flowers at Morari Bapu’s Vyas Peeth.
Sunak made it clear that his faith is personal and that it directs him in all facets of his life. He wanted to lead in the same way that leaders are instructed to lead in the Hindu texts.
He also spoke about his prior roles as chancellor, recalling his time spent in Southampton at a neighborhood mandir where his parents ran havans, poojas, and aartis. In addition to duty or “seva,” Sunak emphasized the principles of dedication, faith, and unselfish service.
Sunak also commended Bapu’s teachings, saying they are more relevant than ever and include truth, love, and compassion. He also acknowledged the contributions made by his parents and grandparents‘ generations in forming his own.
After the Jyotirlinga Ram Katha Yatra, Sunak took part in an aarti on stage and was given a sanctified Shivlinga from the Somnath temple as a precious gift.
