To shatter a world record, over a thousand individuals dressed as dinosaurs gathered in Dundurn, Saskatchewan, on Saturday. A dino dance party also ensued. The crowd was trying to shatter the record for the most dino-themed costume wearers by donning floppy Tyrannosaurus Rex suits.
The event’s organizer was Gary Grady. In Dundurn, roughly 42 kilometers south of Saskatoon, he also runs Big Mur’s Tavern. Grady reported that they counted 1,163 people wearing dinosaur costumes, shattering the previous Guinness record.
Dance Party
The prior record, as per the Guinness World Records website, was achieved in 2019 in Los Angeles, California, with only 253 attendees donning dinosaur costumes. Grady is hopeful that if the numbers are confirmed, he may shortly assert his dino superiority.
Grady remarked on CBC’s Saskatoon Morning, “So we will all submit our information to the Guinness Book of World Records and then mail them a certificate that they were in the challenge.

Grady claimed that the concept gained popularity in the 675-person village after residents began to see inflatable dinosaur costume videos on social media. Grady stated, “I believe we came up with the notion in November or February.
There were many children, many grandparents, and people wearing dinosaur costumes. It was a family event that they truly liked. Watching that was entertaining, remarked Grady.
Grady stated that everyone who attended the event dressed as a dinosaur was entitled to a burger and a beverage as well as a numbered registration and tamper-proof wristband. They had a dance party that was planned by Grady’s friend at 5:00 PM CST.
