Despite reports that he might return for Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, screenwriter Sam Raimi has made hints about perhaps directing the upcoming Spider-Man 4 movie.
Despite having collaborated with Marvel on a film titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Raimi has not received an offer to work on the current project. While he is in excellent standing with Marvel and Columbia Pictures, he has not discussed it with Tobey Maguire.
Spider-Man 4
Actor Thomas Hayden Church expressed excitement in March about seeing Raimi back in Spider-Man 4, saying it would be amazing if it occurred. In 2022, Raimi will direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel Studios.
Raimi is best known for helming the Spider-Man trilogy from 2002 to 2007. Since this partnership, Raimi has made suggestions that he would rejoin the Spider-Man franchise if Spider-Man’s tale is developed alongside the Dr. Strange plot, as was the case with Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Raimi would want to collaborate with Tobey Maguire once more in a new capacity since he has come to understand that anything is possible in the Marvel universe and team-ups.
President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige stated to The New York Times in 2021 that the team is “actively beginning to develop” the story for Spider-Man 4, and that Mayor Fisk might play the primary nemesis in the upcoming Spider-Man movie.
