- OMG 2 adapted from a 2012 film, received ‘Adults Only’ certification.
Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol’s OMG 2 earned favorable reviews and made Rs 25 crore in two days of box office revenue. Along with Gadar 2, the movie, which emphasizes the value of sex education, has been released.
It has been given an A rating by the censor board. Akshay Kumar recently said, “Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai joh teenagers ke liye bani hai,” about his opinion that OMG 2 should be screened in schools. In reality, school is the major dikhana chahiye.
First teen-friendly adult movie
Pankaj Tripathi, the star of the movie, is involved in a legal dispute about sex education. In one scene, Akshay performs the well-known Gadar song “Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava,” which will be featured in Gadar 2. Being that both movies are vying for box office success, the song’s placement seems unexpected.
OMG 2 brought in Rs 15.30 crore on Day 2 according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, bringing the country’s total receipts to about Rs 25.65 crore.
Positive word of mouth is credited as being the main cause of the rise in box office receipts. It would be interesting to watch if the movie’s box office increases with the forthcoming holiday, Independence Day.
The 2012 movie OMG starred Akshay Kumar; the Censor Board delayed it and made 27 alterations, leading to OMG 2. OMG 2 received an ‘Adults Only (A)’ certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after the amendments were made. Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam play attorneys in the movie.
The storyline for OMG 2 is praised by the media since it sensitively emphasizes sex education. Since the movie wants to encourage people to talk about sex carefully, the second half is probably going to come off as preachy.
