The Shadow’s Edge is an upcoming action heist film starring Jackie Chan, set to launch at the European Film Market (EFM) by Golden Network Asia. The film follows Chan’s character, a retired surveillance expert, who is called back by the Macau Police to assist a team of elite detectives in capturing a group of wanted criminals. The plot features a thrilling battle between old-school tracking methods and cutting-edge technology.
The film’s cast includes rising stars Zhang Zifeng, known for the 2021 drama Sister, and Ci Sha, from the hit Creation Of The Gods I. K-pop star Jun, from the group Seventeen, also joins the cast, adding a fresh layer of talent to the ensemble. Veteran actor Tony Leung Ka-Fai will bring further star power to the production.
Directed by Larry Yang, The Shadow’s Edge marks the second collaboration between Chan and Yang after the action comedy Ride On, which gained international success in multiple countries. Ride On became the highest-grossing Chinese film in Japan since 2022 and was among the top three highest-grossing Chinese films in Malaysia in 2023.
Filming of The Shadow’s Edge wrapped up in Macau in October 2024, with production backed by companies such as iQIYI Pictures and Tao Tickets.
