By requesting that all “Selenators” heed their appeal, the fan was working to ensure that the song debuted in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Gomez had to explain a few things in relation to her new album, such as whether the lyrics allude to her previous relationship with The Weeknd, whom she dated in 2017.
