She affirmed that tests performed at the hospital verified the existence of narcotics in her system, which she denied taking, and that the substance had a major effect on her.

The safety of women in her community is a concern for Australian MP Brittany Lauga, who has received calls from other women who have endured similar incidents.

The Queensland Police Service is looking into the allegations of a video that appears to depict Lauga’s assault that has gone viral online. Meaghan Scanlon, Queensland’s housing minister, has praised Queensland Premier Steven Miles for saying that the government is helping Lauga and her well-being.

For almost ten years, Lauga—a town planner—has served in parliament and is currently the assistant minister for health and regional health infrastructure. Investigations into allegations of sexual assault connected to an event in Yeppoon have been verified by the Queensland Police Service.

Steven Miles, the premier of Queensland, has stated that nobody should have to experience what Lauga is going through and has assured her that they are here to help.
