Government Sanctions ₹14,235.30 Crore to Elevate Indian Agriculture

The Indian government has greenlit a series of ambitious agricultural schemes with a collective budget of ₹14,235.30 crore, targeting various sectors of agriculture. Among these, the Digital Agriculture Mission stands out, earmarked with ₹2,817 crore, aiming to digitize farming and empower farmers with real-time data and advanced technologies.

Beyond digitalization, substantial investments are directed toward improving agricultural education, in line with the New Education Policy 2020. Modernization of crop sciences and horticulture is prioritized to drive higher yields and enhance the nation’s food security.

Climate resilience and sustainability are key components of these schemes. The government recognizes the need for climate-smart practices and is emphasizing natural resource management to counter the adverse effects of climate change on agriculture.

Livestock management and animal husbandry are also receiving focused attention. Strengthening these sectors will contribute to rural economic growth, job creation, and overall agricultural development in India, ensuring long-term benefits for the farming community.

These initiatives represent a significant commitment by the Indian government to revolutionize agriculture, making it more sustainable, tech-driven, and resilient against climate change, ultimately ensuring better livelihoods for millions of farmers.
