Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has deployed ministers and senior officials to monitor the impact across districts. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has stationed 20 teams in Odisha and 13 in West Bengal, with reserve teams in place for any emergencies. The Indian Coast Guard is working closely with local agencies to broadcast weather alerts and manage the cyclone’s aftermath.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed MLAs to visit their constituencies and assist with rescue operations. Ministers have been assigned to oversee cyclone management in heavily impacted districts, while senior IAS officers will coordinate efforts to minimize damage. Temporary shelters are being readied across the state, providing food, water, and medical supplies for evacuees.
In neighboring West Bengal, authorities have initiated similar measures. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts that coastal areas, including Puri and West Bengal’s Sagar Island, could experience heavy rainfall and flooding. The Indian Coast Guard has increased its presence along the coast, mobilizing helicopters and vessels to assist fishermen and seafarers who may be affected.
