Iranian president’s death in helicopter crash verified

  • The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, perished in a helicopter crash in a northwest Iranian hilly region.
  • It was claimed that the helicopter had crashed into a mountain peak, albeit the cause of the incident is yet unknown.
  • Rescuers observed the wreckage from around 1.25 kilometers away, according to Pir Hossein Kolivand.

It took more than ten hours for the chopper belonging to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to be located. The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), Pir-Hossein Kolivand, has announced that rescue crews had reached Raisi’s chopper wreckage.

Rescue personnel were led to the crash site, according to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), after a Turkish drone named Akinci detected a heat source in the disaster area.

Helicopter crash

The region where rescue personnel detected the petrol smell has been visited by Iranian authorities. The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, perished in a helicopter crash in a northwest Iranian hilly region. Following more than twelve hours without sight, the president and his foreign minister crashed.

The president and the foreign minister were on the chopper when it crashed, killing every person inside. It was claimed that the helicopter had crashed into a mountain peak, albeit the cause of the incident is yet unknown.

Rescuers observed the wreckage from around 1.25 kilometers away, according to Pir Hossein Kolivand, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society. Flying aboard a Bell 212 helicopter manufactured in the United States was Raisi, sixty-three.
