After serving as an Apache helicopter co-pilot gunner in Afghanistan, Harry launched the Invictus Games in 2014, which provide sporting events akin to the Paralympics.

Nigeria was present at the previous year’s games. While in Abuja and Lagos, the couple plans to visit with non-governmental groups, watch basketball and volleyball games, and co-host an event on women in leadership with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the World Trade Organization’s director general.

Since 2009, thousands of Nigerian military soldiers have been fighting Islamic extremists from Boko Haram, and the military has promoted the Invictus Games as a possible aid in their recuperation.
