With a combined worth of $14.2 trillion (£11.3 trillion), the affluent were wealthier than ever. Swift’s popularity goes beyond just music; she frequently attends American football games to see her boyfriend Travis Kelce increase NFL viewership.

Six of the ten wealthiest individuals on the earth, comprising eight of them, were US citizens and had amassed their wealth from the technology sector. Second on the list with an estimated net worth of $195 billion (£155 billion) is Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and X.

Third is Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon. TV producer Dick Wolf is also included, with a worth of $1.2 billion (£950 million), as is Magic Johnson. According to Forbes, the class of 2024 billionaires is 255% wealthier than it was ten years ago and is currently valued at $2 trillion (£1.59 trillion).

This means that only 0.5% of the 2,781 billionaires worldwide own 14% of all billionaire wealth. With 813 on the list, the US continues to have more billionaires than any other nation.
