Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other political figures, according to the chief coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) S. Seeman, only became aware of the Katchatheevu issue before the Lok Sabha elections.
Seeman questioned how these authorities could have been blind to the fact that the Sri Lankan Navy was killing Indian fishermen. He recommended that the RTI Act be used by the BJP to get information about the genocide of Tamils during ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka.
