Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal made a stunning Miami Open debut, defeating Canada‘s Gabriel Diallo in straight sets with incredible poise.
During crucial points in his first-round qualifying encounter on Monday, the 26-year-old Canadian player kept his composure and defeated the formidable Diallo, who stands 6 feet 8 inches tall, 7-6(3), 6-2.

Following his victory at the Chennai Open, Nadal broke into the world’s top 100. His next opponent will be Coleman Wong. While he controlled the second set, breaking Diallo in both the first and seventh games, Nagal won the first set tiebreaker by saving a break point in the seventh game.
He will most likely reach a new career high of global No. 92 following this triumph. Nagal proceeded to the main draw of the Indian Wells tournament following Rafael Nadal’s last-minute withdrawal, however, he was defeated by Milos Raonic there.
Nagal created quite a stir when he advanced to the second round of the Australian Open in January. That effort has gotten him inside the top 100 of the ATP rankings.
