Sony Pictures International Productions has launched a biography on the life and legacy of Madhubala, dubbed “the living Taj Mahal” and “India’s Marilyn Monroe.”
In addition to showcasing the challenges she encountered as a woman in the entertainment industry at the time, the movie studio is crafting a visceral experience.
The massive project
Producers of the movie are Madhurya Vinay and Prashant Singh of Brewing Thoughts Pvt. Ltd. and Sony Pictures International Productions. The largest superhero trilogy in India, “Shaktimaan,” is already under production at the studio.
The film is co-produced by Madhur Brij Bhushan, Madhubala’s sister, and Arvind Kumar Malviya of Madhubala Ventures. However, it is still unclear who will play the lead part.
Before she died in 1969, Madhubala, who was considered to be among the highest-paid and most gifted actresses in Indian cinema history, starred in over 60 films during the course of her more than 20-year career.
She has contributed to several popular movies, including “Barsaat Ki Raat,” “Mr & Mrs 55,” “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi,” and “Mughal-E-Azam.”
