After the group attacks, Israel threatens Hezbollah with “another war”

The death of a top Hamas leader in what is believed to have been an Israeli strike in Beirut has raised tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.

According to news agency AP, the Israeli military disclosed on Sunday that Hezbollah, a militant organization based in Lebanon, had assaulted an air traffic control center located in northern Israel. The Israeli military threatened to launch “another war” against Hezbollah.

Israel-Hamas War

Hezbollah, which is sponsored by Iran, is said to have targeted a base on Mount Meron, damaging damage but sparing no Israeli military casualties. Hezbollah, which is assisting Hamas in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, regards the strike as one of the worst.

Lt Col. Herzi Halevi, the chief of staff for the Israeli military, forewarned Hezbollah that increasing pressure would either be successful or result in another conflict. Hezbollah was cautioned by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take note of what Israel has done to combat Hamas.

The US is worried that a wider regional confrontation could be sparked by Israel and Hezbollah’s escalations near the Lebanese border. To address the situation in Gaza and stop the Israel-Hamas battle from escalating into a larger conflict, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with leaders of Qatar and Jordan.
