Penny Wong, the foreign minister of Australia, has traveled to New Delhi to take part in the second 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue between India and Australia.

Numerous facets of the Australia-India partnership will be discussed in the conversation. Richard Marles, the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and Minister of Defence, has already traveled to India for the discussion.

Two-plus-two meeting

India is Australia’s top security partner, according to Marles, and the Indo-Pacific region gains directly from its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

There have been several firsts in the defense relationship between Australia and India this year, including an Indian submarine visiting Perth and Australia holding Exercise Malabar. Marles highlighted how the defense and security alliances of both countries are becoming closer.

The partnership between Australia and India is critical to the stability and prosperity of the shared region, as highlighted by Minister of Financial Affairs Wong.

To benefit the Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia, and Pacific regions, she underlined Australia’s dedication to forming closer partnerships with India.

A pillar of the Australia-Indian relationship, the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue offers both countries a chance to grow closer and collaborate in creating the kind of region they both envision.
